About Me

Hi! I’m Heather, certified burnout survivor, wannabe homesteader, and serial hobbyist. I’m a master at pottering about the house and the garden and have had a passion for everything slow living and wellbeing ever since I was in university.

After struggling with burnout, constant overthinking, and always feeling like I had a never-ending list of things I needed to get done, I started looking into slow living and it’s benefits for wellbeing.

I even based my entire final year at university around the principles of wellbeing and slow living and how it could be translated into textiles and fabrics for the home. Not sure how much my tutors appreciated the link, but for me, it was like one of those cliche lightbulb moments where I knew it was something I wanted to pursue.

I then went on and did what any textile design graduate does, and found a job completely unrelated to my degree, in marketing.

But why should you listen to me?

Well I could say things like “I’ve been there” and “I know how you feel as I went through the same things”, which would be true, but as part of that lovely year-long project in university, I did a tremendous amount of research into wellbeing, mental health, and slow living and have become a bit of a lifelong learner of all these areas. Not to mention reading more self-help and psychology books than I care to admit (I have post-breakup healing to thank for that).

I’d like to think that all this puts in a position of being someone you could turn to for answers or guidance on these topics. And with everything else, I’m still figuring it out as I go and hey, we can learn something together.

Since my time in marketing, I’ve become more and more aware of the amount of content produced purely with the goal of making a business more money. And that’s just one of the many reasons I wanted to grow my own website and social media so that I could actually share content, advice, products, and all those things that I genuinely am passionate about. If I wouldn’t give the advice or the recommendation to a close friend, I’m not going to be posting it on here.

But anyway, I hope you find something helpful here and I’d love to connect with you and hear your experiences or how any of this content helped you. Enjoy!
